What Are Veneers?

Are Veneers Permanent?
Veneers are considered a permanent treatment due to the prep work that must be done before they can be placed. To keep the veneers looking nice and natural, the teeth are reshaped, meaning a small amount of enamel is removed to ensure that there is plenty of room for the veneers. Once tooth enamel is removed, a dental restoration of some kind must always be in place to support the tooth and protect it from potential damage.
